Tesla Will Offer Cars Meeting China's National Charging Standards Tesla Will Offer Cars Meeting China's National Charging Standards

(Yicai Global) Oct. 16 -- Electric car developer Tesla Inc. [NASDAQ:TSLA] said today that it will deliver Model S and Model X vehicles to China that feature charging ports meeting the country's GB/T20234-2015 national standard, Tech.hexun.com reported.

Tesla said that its vehicle will allow users to juice up their autos at the company's charging stations as well as at private ones, affording Tesla owners convenience.

Tesla will upgrade its charging facilities in China by replacing interfaces with ones that meet the new standard. The group expects to complete the work in the first half of next year.

Tesla will slightly adjust new models' bodies to accommodate to the updated charging port.

Tesla has built more than 700 charging piles in China and that number will exceed 1,000 by the end of the year. The carmaker's charging and service network covers 170 Chinese cities.
