Thirty-Five Fashion Brands, Including Hermes, Fendi, Fail Spot Checks by Beijing Municipal Administration Thirty-Five Fashion Brands, Including Hermes, Fendi, Fail Spot Checks by Beijing Municipal Administration

(Yicai Global) Sept. 19 -- A total of 35 fashion brands including Fendi and Giorgio Armani have failed the adult clothing quality spot checks conducted by the Beijing Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce.

Issues discovered mainly include non-compliant user instructions, fiber content, color fastness (fastness to water, alkali, rubbing and soaping) and piling resistance, the Administration announced on its website.

Inaccurate fiber content is detected in a batch of men's jackets and a batch of women's sweaters imported respectively by Hermes (Shanghai) Trading Co. and Fendi (Shanghai) Commercial Co. as shown on the product labels, it noted.

Non-compliant user instructions are found in a batch of Giorgio Armani women's casual suits whose distributor is labeled as Giorgio Armani (Shanghai) Trading Co.

Quality issues are found in three batches of clothing products, including Blackbarett men's sweaters, Brax shirts and Admire dresses. Some items passed the quality checks, but the manufacturers could not be contacted using the addresses and contact information specified on the products' labels. The bureau has issued a warning to consumers against buying these products.
