Visionox Kicks Off Sixth-Gen AMOLED Production at USD6.7 Billion Hefei Plant (Yicai Global) Dec. 7 – Chinese display giant Visionox Technology has started making flexible active-matrix organic light-emitting diode displays at its CNY44 billion (USD6.7 billion) plant in eastern China's Anhui province to keep up with the competition.
The manufacturer's Hefei plant began churning out sixth-generation AMOLED displays this morning to respond to the rising demand for such advanced technology used in smartphones, the Beijing-based company said in a statement today. The factory, a joint venture with the local government, can make 30,000 glass substrates a month.
The firm is building another sixth-gen production base in southern Guangzhou. It already has one such base in northern Hebei province, and another 5.5-gen display plant in eastern Jiangsu province.
Visionox ranked second in domestic AMOLED panel shipments in 2019 with a market share of 11.8 percent, according to Sigmaintell.
Visionox's stock price [SZE:002387] rose 1.1 percent to CNY13.34 (USD2) this afternoon.
