(Yicai Global) Sept. 9 -- A subsidiary of China's Aotecar New Energy Technology will provide Volkswagen India with air conditioning compressors, following a similar deal last month with a Brazilian unit of France's PSA Group.

Futong Automotive Air Conditioning, located in northeastern Heilongjiang province, has received a notice from Volkswagen India, informing it to become the latter's supplier in the long-term, the Nanjing-based parent said in a statement, without disclosing details about timing or pricing.

In August, the Chinese firm announced that its unit will provide AC compressors to a Brazilian unit of PSA, the owner of Peugeot, Opel and Citroen brands. Last November, Aotecar said that its thermal systems unit in the US has started cooperating with US electric vehicle maker Tesla. 

The deal with Volkswagen India will expand Aotecar's international market share and improve its business performance, it added.
