(Yicai Global) Sept. 19 -- German auto titan Volkswagen plans to bring at least 10 of the vehicles based on its modular electric drive matrix, or MEB, to China after beginning production of the first such car in the country next year.

The first of the cars based on the modular chassis, named MEB after its German name Modularer Elektrobaukasten, is the ID.3, The Paper cited the company as saying in a press release. The ID.3 is slated for a mid-2020 release in Europe and sold out in pre-sale earlier this month.
