(Yicai Global) Feb. 1 -- The two hospitals being built following Beijing's SARS treatment model will start to receive patients infected with novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) on February 3 and February 6 respectively in Wuhan, the center of a coronavirus outbreak in central China, according to a press conference last night.
Now, workers, trucks, and excavators are racing against the clock to meet the deadline at the construction sites.
The Huoshenshan (Fire God Mountain) Hospital covering an area of 34,000 square meters and providing 1,000 beds, will receive patients on February 3 after it is delivered to put into use on the evening of tomorrow , said Zhou Xianwang, mayor of Wuhan at the press conference.
With an area of 75,000 square meters, the Leishenshan (Thunder God Mountain) Hospital which accommodates 1,500 beds is expected to receive patients on February 6, according to Zhou.
Hubei reported 1,347 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection and 45 new deaths yesterday, local health authorities said today.
The provincial capital Wuhan reported 576 new confirmed cases and 33 new deaths, and the cities of Huanggang and Yichang reported 153 and 109 new confirmed cases, respectively, according to the Hubei Provincial Health Commission.
Fifty patients were discharged from hospital in the province yesterday.
Hubei had reported 7,153 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection by yesterday, with 249 deaths and 956 patients in severe or critical condition. The province has seen 166 patients discharged from hospital.
