(Yicai) Jan. 12 -- Chinese embodied artificial intelligence company X Square Robot has completed a CNY1 billion (USD143.4 million) A++ round of financing, becoming the only domestic embodied AI enterprise backed simultaneously by internet giants ByteDance, Meituan, and Alibaba Group Holding.

The Shenzhen-based humanoid startup said today that the latest round was led by top investment institutions, including ByteDance, HongShan Capital Group, the Beijing Information Industry Development Fund, and Shenzhen Capital Group, along with several local investment platforms. The deal marks the first investment made by a special new technology fund backed by Shenzhen Capital Group since its establishment.

X Square Robot has completed nine financing rounds to date, raising a total of CNY3 billion, according to information released by the company.

The firm has gradually entered multiple high-value sectors, including industrial manufacturing, logistics, and elderly care. Its cross-industry applications demonstrate that its robots are accurately meeting real commercial market demand through strong generalization capabilities and low-cost deployment, the company said.

X Square Robot said it will continue to leverage its leading model capabilities to further unlock the transformative potential of embodied artificial intelligence, fully release its technological value in industrial applications, promote the large-scale deployment of model-driven embodied AI across industries, and inject new momentum into industrial upgrading and productivity growth.

Founded in December 2023, X Square Robot focuses on the research and development of general-purpose embodied large models, using real-world data as its primary data source to build general-purpose robots with fine operation capabilities.
