Zhang Qingyuan, CEO of Kingsoft Office, announced in the theme forum of "Exploring AI Office Best Practices" hosted by him that the WPS AI strategy has been upgraded to version 2.0, which is mainly divided into three parts: WPS AI Office Assistant, WPS AI Government Edition and WPS AI Enterprise Edition.

Since last year, Kingsoft Office has continued to explore the application of its AI technology in office scenarios, and now it has further refined its WPS AI products according to different scenarios and needs such as personal office, government office, and enterprise office.

After the forum, Kingsoft Office (688111. SH) turned from falling to rising during the session. At the close of trading on July 5, Jinshan Office ended its recent decline, up 3.26% to 197.66 yuan.

According to the introduction and demonstration of Kingsoft Office, the upgraded WPS AI adds 4 AI office assistants for individual users, namely AI writing assistant, AI reading assistant, AI data assistant, and AI design assistant; For enterprise users, Kingsoft Office has also launched the WPS AI Enterprise Edition, which consists of three cores: AI Hub (intelligent base), AI Docs (intelligent document library) and Copilot Pro (enterprise intelligent assistant). For the government affairs scenario, Kingsoft Office has released the 13B-level government affairs self-developed model - Kingsoft Government Office Model 1.0 for the first time, which has been implemented in Pudong New Area, Shanghai.

At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in the same period in 2023, Kingsoft Office released WPS AI, a combination of office software WPS and AI, for the first time, and opened the public beta in November. At that time, Kingsoft Office introduced that WPS AI will be one of the core ecosystems in the future in the planning of Kingsoft Office, and AI can help users from three aspects: AIGC (content creation), Copilot (intelligent assistant) and Insight (knowledge insight).

In April this year, Kingsoft Office released WPS 365, a new office productivity platform for organizations and enterprises, which connects the three major capabilities of documents, collaboration and AI. At the same time, WPS collaboration also integrates office scenarios and functions such as messages, meetings, mailboxes, calendars, cloud disks, workbenches, and to-dos.

These changes are basically consistent with Microsoft's previous idea of upgrading office 365 to Microsoft 365, and are the only way for office software products to carry out AI transformation.

In addition, in previous speeches and interviews, Zhang Qingyuan repeatedly emphasized that Kingsoft Office does not make large models, but the positioning of large model applications. This is also in line with the views of some industry giants.

Robin Li, the founder, chairman and CEO of Baidu, has been in many public occasions and event interviews since last year, while promoting Baidu's AI model Wenxin Yiyan, on the other hand, he has repeatedly emphasized that he hopes that China's AI industry will "roll applications, not roll models". At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Robin Li, who gave a keynote speech at the Industrial Development Forum, also continued to strengthen his view that without application, the basic model will be worthless.

Even so, the so-called "100-model war" broke out in China, which also provides more model options for companies like Kingsoft Office that are committed to application scenarios.

Zhang Qingyuan previously introduced that Kingsoft Office has been connected to mainstream head models such as MiniMax, Zhipu AI, Wenxin Yiyan, SenseTime Ririxin, Tongyi Qianwen, etc., and integrated them with WPS Office and WPS 365. At this conference, Kingsoft Office introduced that it is currently adapted to hundreds of mainstream large models in China, which can allow users to switch freely and use it out of the box.

In contrast, not long ago, DingTalk also announced that it was open to all large model manufacturers, in addition to Alibaba's own Tongyi large model, it has also reached cooperation with MiniMax, Dark Side of the Moon, Zhipu AI, Orion Starry Sky, Zero One Everything, and Baichuan Intelligence.

However, as Kingsoft Office goes further and further on the road of platformization and AI, it will face more and more pressure from the competition of giants, and its business intersection with Alibaba's DingTalk, Tencent's Tencent Docs, Tencent Meeting and WeCom, ByteDance's Feishu and other office software platforms has become more and more.
