Following the establishment of subsidiaries in Viet Nam and India in 2022 and 2023 respectively, Matsui Co., Ltd. (688157) plans to set up two more subsidiaries in United States to accelerate the company's global strategic layout.

It is planned to settle United States increase globalization

On the evening of September 29, Matsui Co., Ltd. announced that in order to further implement the company's medium and long-term strategic development plan, improve the layout of global business and technical service network, improve international competitiveness and brand influence, and promote the company's long-term sustainable development, the company intends to invest in the establishment of wholly-owned subsidiaries Matsui New Materials (United States) Co., Ltd. and Matsui (United States) Property Co., Ltd. in California, United States, with its own or self-raised funds, respectively for the construction of United States technology and service center projects. The construction content includes but is not limited to the purchase of land and plants, the purchase of laboratory equipment, testing equipment and other related matters, and the actual investment amount is subject to the amount approved by the local competent authorities in China and United States.

According to the announcement, the total investment of the United States Technology and Service Center project is 5.8 million US dollars, of which the total investment of Matsui (United States) Property Co., Ltd. is 3.5 million US dollars, mainly for the purchase of land and factories in Vista, California, United States; Matsui New Materials (United States) Co., Ltd. has a total investment of 2.3 million US dollars, mainly used for the purchase of laboratory equipment and testing equipment and preliminary operation, the total area of the project is about 2392 square meters, including the plant construction area of about 958 square meters, and the total planning and construction period is about 12 months.

Matsui said that after completion, the United States technology and service center project will be mainly used for the research and development of new functional coating materials, proofing, and supporting the provision of small batch production, warehousing, marketing services, etc. to meet the rapid delivery needs of downstream customers, so as to further enhance and improve the company's global system marketing and technical service capabilities, and provide a strong guarantee for the company's business development.

Matsui Co., Ltd. successfully IPO on June 9, 2020, is the first A-share listed company on the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Board to focus on advanced new functional coating materials. In the field of consumer electronics, Matsui's business has covered four major market segments: mobile phones and related accessories, notebook computers and related accessories, wearable devices, and smart homes, and has formed a multi-category integrated product architecture such as coatings, inks, and adhesives, and HP, Huawei, Samsung, and OPPO are the company's customers. In addition, the company has also entered the supply chain system of Geely, GAC and other automobile brand enterprises.

For the investment, Matsui said that based on the company's strategic development needs, the company focuses on high-end consumer electronics and passenger cars and other application fields, and combines the geographical distribution characteristics of the industrial chain to carry out the global technology and service network layout, so as to achieve effective penetration of the global market.

Matsui shares said, as the world's high-end consumer electronics and passenger car industry terminal brand important gathering place, United States has Apple, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Tesla and many other world-renowned brand enterprises, the company currently has some North American consumer electronics customers, and has established a long-term and stable cooperative relationship with it, the company's existing technical service model will be difficult to meet the needs of customers continue to grow, the construction of United States technology and service center on the one hand can serve the nearest United States and other North American customers, Improve the response speed of technical services, improve the quality of customer service and strengthen the sticky connection of customers, and further expand the company's global brand influence and international competitiveness; On the other hand, it will help the company to develop more new overseas high-end customer groups, especially passenger car customers, broaden business channels and enhance the company's business scale.

It is understood that in order to better participate in global competition, in 2022 and 2023, Matsui Co., Ltd. has set up Matsui Viet Nam and Matsui India respectively, and set up a production and technical marketing base with Matsui Viet Nam as the center, and the business radiates the Southeast Asian and India markets, initially realizing effective services to local customers, laying a good foundation for the company's international operation.

Recently, Matsui Co., Ltd. said in an institutional survey that the factors driving the growth of the company's high-end consumer electronics business in the future are mainly summarized in two aspects: First, due to the rich categories of high-end consumer electronics terminal products and frequent updates and iterations, the downstream customers have an increasing demand for personalized, high-quality, high-end and other series of functional coating material products. Second, the company actively promotes the implementation of the three-in-one product system of "coatings, inks and adhesives", and with the continuous development and gradual maturity of the business layout in the field of inks and adhesives, it is expected to bring new performance increments to the company's high-end consumer electronics coating business.

In the field of passenger cars, Matsui believes that from the perspective of the competition pattern of the global automotive coatings market, the global automotive coatings market is still dominated by foreign coatings. In recent years, with the establishment of the global economic integration division of labor system and the transfer of the automobile manufacturing industry, China's automobile industry has developed rapidly, forming a complete industrial system with complete types and supporting facilities, and has now become an important part of the global automobile industry system. At the same time, under the strategy of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, a number of new energy and new power automobile companies represented by BYD, Geely, GAC, Weilai, Ideal, Xiaopeng, etc., have risen rapidly, further driving the development of a new localized supply chain system and providing development opportunities for Chinese coating companies.

On the other hand, Matsui shares believe that because new energy vehicles can carry more "intelligent, networked" functions, more able to meet the needs of young consumer groups, so new energy vehicle consumer groups are more inclined to be younger, and the terminal young consumer groups for new texture, new vision, new body sense of driving experience and other personalized demand is increasing, which provides a stage for some domestic new functional coating material manufacturing industry, especially technology-leading coating material enterprises.

Matsui is also actively deploying in the wearable field. "The company has cooperated with many well-known downstream terminals to jointly create a series of industry benchmark projects, such as exclusively participating in the application development of multi-component coating materials for Vision Pro, the first revolutionary mixed reality (MR) product of a major consumer electronics customer in North America, and successfully introduced it into mass production." Matsui revealed that the company also provides advanced functional coating material solutions for AR smart glasses such as Microsoft and Lenovo, and "in the future, the company will increase its layout in the field of wearable devices such as AR/VR/MR to seize more new development opportunities."
