China today unveiled a new package of eight measures to further optimize its departure tax refund, Xinhua reported. From July 1, refund applications involving purchases of under CNY10,000 (USD1,380) will be subject to spot checks rather than mandatory physical inspection. Meanwhile, applications for goods priced at or above CNY10,000 will continue to require full verification.
