China’s Chery Auto and Japan’s Nissan Motor signed a preliminary deal to explore the production of Chery vehicles at Nissan's plant in Sunderland, as the Japanese firm seeks to make better use of spare capacity at the UK’s largest car factory, Nissan said yesterday. The plant could begin manufacturing Chery passenger vehicles as early as next year.
