China deployed more than 2,500 rescue personnel after the mudslide struck Gyirong Port on the China-Nepal border in southwestern Xizang Autonomous Region on Aug. 26, Xinhua reported. Triggered by a high-altitude glacier collapse in Nepal, the mudslide killed 43 people, with 519 still missing as of Sept. 5.
