UNESCO announced on July 27 the inclusion of the Beijing Central Axis: A Building Ensemble Exhibiting the Ideal Order of the Chinese Capital, into its world heritage list, bringing China’s World Heritage Sites to 59. Beijing Central Axis is the longest urban axis in the world, spanning 7.8 km.
