Shanghai Metro will launch a pilot program for “tap-and-go” travel using bank cards from tomorrow, following its debut on the Shanghai Maglev on June 14. Passengers will be able to pass through station gates by simply tapping chip-enabled cards, including those from major providers UnionPay, Visa, and Mastercard.
