(Yicai Global) Feb. 9 -- Chinese rubber product maker Anhui Zhongding Sealing Parts Co. has penned a deal to supply suspension systems to eGT New Energy Automotive Co., a plug-in vehicle manufacturer set up by the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Dongfeng Motor Group Co.

A Zhongding affiliate has also bagged a supply contract to provide cooling systems to Zhejiang Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Co., the Anhui-based company said in a statement. Both deals will help the firm expand its presence in the new-energy vehicle sector, it added.

Plug-in vehicles are a serious business in China. Some 605,500 new-energy passenger cars sold there last year as the nation captured a 49-percent share of the global NEV market and grew 30 times faster than the worldwide average, according to data from industry researcher EV Volumes.

Zhongding has acquired several industry-leading players in the noise, vibration and harshness sector over the past 10 years, including Germany's WEGU Holding GmbH and Switzerland's Green Motion SA, as it looks to explore overseas markets. It founded Zhongding Europe GmbH in Germany in 2008.
