(Yicai Global) May 16 -- Anhui Zhongding Sealing Parts Co. will make electric vehicle bushings for China's private automaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., which will help the company further expand into the EV market, the former said. The deal represents the increasing collaboration between China's carmakers and suppliers as the demand for new energy vehicles soars in the world's biggest auto market.

Geely has selected Anhui Zhongding Shock Absorbing Rubber Technology Co., a subsidiary of Zhongding Sealing Parts, as the wholesale supplier of bushing products for the polestar modular architecture, or PMA, managed by Geely's components and parts procurement unit, said the seals and non-tire rubber producer in a statement yesterday.

Jointly established by Geely and Volvo Cars, the PMA platform is specially designed for electric vehicle production and development, it added.

The Xuancheng-based seals and rubber producer will complete developing and making the EV bushings within the specified time limit as required by Geely and kick off mass production as early as possible, the statement said.

Zhejiang Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Co., another Geely unit, also selected Zhongding as the NEV cooling system wholesale supplier for one of its projects in February.

Since the beginning of this year, Zhongding Sealing Parts has received substantial orders from various carmakers including Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd., Volvo Cars, BYD Co., SAIC Motor Corp. and eGT New Energy Automotive Co., jointly established by the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Dongfeng Motor Group Company Ltd.

Zhongding Sealing Parts has been focusing on the research and development of vehicular vibration-absorbing products and their supporting devices. After merging and acquiring the German company Wegu Holding Gmbh in 2015, it has become a high-end supplier in vehicular vibration-absorbing and noise-reducing industry, says publicly available information.
