Chinese Industrial Parks With Gross Output of Over CNY100 Billion Climbs to 54(Yicai Global) July 6 -- China added six more industrial parks with gross output in excess of CNY100 billion (USD13.8 billion) this year, bringing their total number to 54, according to a new report.
Industrial parks with over 300 high-tech firms and those with imports and exports of more than CNY50 billion (USD6.9 billion) rose by two and nine to 67 and 49, respectively, the report by researchers at CCID Consulting also showed today.
The growth of China’s industrial park still faces regional imbalances, great pressure on innovative development, and other issues, it also noted.
China should enhance the stability of industrial parks’ supply chains to boost their digitalization, the analyst heading CCID’s work on industrial parks told Yicai Global. “Each industrial park should also build and perfect its service mechanism targeting foreign companies to support export-oriented firms’ expansion in international markets,” the person added.
Nineteen of China’s top 100 industrial parks are in eastern Jiangsu, the most represented provincial-level region, followed by Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hubei, and Shandong. Fifty-seven of the top 100 are located in eastern regions and 15 in western regions.
None of the leading 100 were from the provinces of Gansu, Qinghai, and Hainan nor from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region.
The rankings also showed that some economically developed provinces only had a few industrial parks in the top 100, mainly because their transformation is still in the initial stage. For instance, Fujian and Henan, among the top 10 provincial-level regions by gross domestic product last year, had only three industrial parks each in the top 100 this year.
