(Yicai Global) Aug. 9 -- The 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck Xinjiang province this morning left at least 32 injured and more than 1,000 buildings damaged.

Of the 32 reported injuries in Jinghe county, Bortala, Xinjiang province, two are serious, the Xinjiang government said. At least 1,060 buildings were damaged, and 142 of them collapsed, as did 61 courtyard walls and 26 livestock sheds. Four grazing roads were damaged.

The Xinjiang Earthquake Administration began level-II emergency response procedures, the second highest of the four response levels. The government is sending tents, quilts, food, medicine, drinking water and other materials to the affected area.

No tourists in Jinghe county have been reported as injured or killed by the quake so far, the Xinjiang Tourism Development Commission said.
