AI Carbon Management Platforms Debut at Shanghai Int’l Carbon Neutrality Expo AI Carbon Management Platforms Debut at Shanghai Int’l Carbon Neutrality Expo

(Yicai) June 11 -- Multiple artificial intelligence-powered carbon management platforms were launched at the 2026 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo in Technologies, Products, and Achievements, as the industry is leaning into using digital and intelligent technologies and refined and scientific carbon management.

Shanghai Carbon Newture Technology debuted a digital carbon management platform at the Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo that kicked off yesterday in the Chinese eastern city.

The platform conducts data retrieval, AI modeling, and professional analysis based on keywords submitted by users and calculates carbon emissions covering raw materials, components, production processes, and other modules, the firm’s Chief Executive Officer Huang Yanxing told Yicai. This helps users design refined and scientific schemes for supporting clean energy deployment, green factory construction, and customized decarbonization suggestions.

Different clients from different sectors need different decarbonization solutions, Huang said. For end consumer goods, emission reduction efforts mainly focus on raw material procurement, while for midstream and upstream sectors, such as chemicals, yarns, and cotton textiles, the efforts are also centered around production processes.

Shanghai CarbonEase Intelligent Technology showcased its self-developed integrated intelligent carbon management platform at the expo. It has already served nearly 200 enterprises to date, with clients from the automobile, auto parts, chemicals, and construction industries accounting for nearly 80 percent of its total customer base, said Wei Dongming, technical partner at the company.

Demands for carbon management have undergone notable shifts in recent years, Wei noted. Enterprises have stronger initiative to conduct independent carbon management and show willingness to build in-house carbon management systems and take control of carbon emission data and full-cycle calculation workflows, while attaching greater importance to data quality improvement, he added.

To comply with overseas regulatory requirements, firms need to align their carbon emission calculation and management practices with internationally recognized regulations, such as the European Union’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation for product circularity and its Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive on waste material recycling, Wei pointed out.

Building a standardized and robust underlying carbon data infrastructure is another core industry priority. Shanghai E-Carbon Digital Technology unveiled its Cortex AI smart carbon footprint workstation at the expo. Equipped with a comprehensive underlying carbon emission database, it assists clients in accurately calculating product carbon emissions and meeting various domestic and international carbon audit criteria.

Shanghai E-C Digital also launched an AI agent for a full-scenario industrial carbon data quantification and management platform at the expo. Quantified carbon data management is equivalent to regular low-carbon physical examinations for industrial manufacturers, Zhou Jing, chairman of the company, told Yicai. It not only visualizes full-lifecycle product carbon footprint data but also analyzes enterprises’ carbon emission trends to identify key breakthrough points for emission cuts, he added.
