(Yicai Global) Nov. 30 -- Internet giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NYSE:BABA) and Zhejiang Wufangzhai Industrial Co. a well-known catering brand, will open the first unmanned restaurant in Hangzhou, capital of China's eastern Zhejiang province, in January 2018, online media outlet TechWeb reported yesterday.

Alibaba's restaurant platform Koubei will provide technological solutions for the eatery, which will open 24-hours-per-day and feature intelligent ordering, service notifications, self-service dining and automatic payments.

Consumers will order by scanning QR codes, and independently pick up and clear away their meals before bill expenses are automatically deducted from their accounts.
