(Yicai Global) Sept. 5 -- Alipay has now scaled the world's loftiest peak -- the 8,848-meter (29,029-foot) high Mount Everest.

This was the claim made by Zhejiang Ant Small and Micro Financial Services Group Ltd., an affiliate of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], as www.mydrivers.com recently reported.

 Ant Financial is focusing on building Alipay into a global software product. Alipay will have about 2 billion users around the world by 2025.

Through the application of financial technology, the small and micro businesses on the roof of the world can also enjoy the same services as users in major cities in the mainland, said Jing Xiandong, CEO of Ant Financial. The service is more efficient, accurate and inclusive than that of financial institutions, and this helps solve social problems, he added.
