Auto Parallel Import Pilot Platform Set Up at Largest Port Between China & Russia Auto Parallel Import Pilot Platform Set Up at Largest Port Between China & Russia

(Yicai Global) Dec. 14 – A pilot platform for auto parallel imports was recently established in Manzhouli, the largest port between China and Russia, adding a new import category.

Parallel imported cars refer to cars imported from different countries by  importers other than the general dealers. The models are more  diversified and cost much less since they bypass the sales chains involving general dealers, regional distributors, 4S stores and other intermediaries.

The first parallel imported combined sea-rail transport line in Manzhouli has already begun operations. It starts in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, by sea, converts to railways at Dalian port in northeast China's Liaoning province, and finally reaches Manzhouli port, situated in north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, in about 25 days. The first batch of 20 parallel imported cars from the Middle East has arrived in Manzhouli by the combined sea-rail transport, according to Xinhua News Agency, which quoted the city government.

Construction of Manzhouli port's auto parallel import park, auto sales exhibition hall, office building and bonded warehouse has been completed. A total of 210,000 square meters of the warehouse area is in the free trade zone.
