(Yicai Global) Sept.27 -- Search engine giant Baidu Inc. [NASDAQ:BIDU] and Qingdao municipal government in East China's Shandong province reached a cooperation agreement to jointly build 'Smart Qingdao.'

Qingdao Municipal People's Government and Baidu yesterday signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly build a smart city based on Qingdao's industrial base and data resources, combined with Baidu's artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, Big Data and other technologies, China's equity crowd-funding third party website zczj.com reported.

Baidu's cloud computing technology will promote Qingdao's information technology projects in the fields of cloud for government management, financial services and traffic management, and integrate AI, cloud computing, Big Data, autonomous driving and other leading technologies in the city's manufacturing industry to build cloud-based industrial management platform.

Baidu's Big Data technology will also offer support for Qingdao's public services, participate in the construction of several public service platforms in Qingdao and promote the city's "Internet + government service" construction.
