(Yicai) Nov. 20 -- Display panel giants BOE Technology Group and Samsung Display have resolved their active matrix light-emitting diode technology battle, agreeing to stop relevant investigations and bring their 35-month legal wrangle to a close.

The United States International Trade Commission planned to issue a final ruling on whether China's BOE infringed on the OLED display trade secrets of South Korea's Samsung Display on Nov. 17, which should have been the conclusion of the preliminary ruling of infringement made in July, but it received a joint application from the two companies to withdraw the case, the agency announced on its website on Nov. 18.

After many rounds of negotiations, BOE and Samsung Display submitted the joint petition to the ITC to suspend the investigation regarding their AMOLED technology battle and cancel a Section 337 probe and other related cases as soon as possible, The Paper reported yesterday.

The OLED intellectual property dispute between Samsung Display and BOE began in December 2022, the report said. After reaching a reconciliation agreement, the two companies agreed to withdraw all ongoing lawsuits in the US and China, without disclosing details of the deal yet.

BOE reportedly believes that any behavior that deviates from the positive consensus and interprets the details of the reconciliation in a one-sided manner cannot accurately reflect the fundamental value and significance of the cooperation, calling on all parties to view the alliance's core values and achievements with an objective and rational attitude.

BOE has always advocated for a win-win competitive and cooperative attitude and has built a complete IP protection system since its establishment in 1993, which serves as the foundation for its participation in global competition and win-win cooperation with industry partners.
