(Yicai Global) Aug. 16 -- Ankon Technologies Co. said yesterday that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Dazhong Investment, SoftBank China Venture Capital (SBCVC), PreIPO Capital, Qiansheng Investment, Houxin Jiantou and Tong Sheng Capital Co. The six backers will pump a combined USD100 million into Ankon to help it expand its market presence and carry out research and development.

Ankon has created and commercialized the world's first magnetically controlled capsule gastrointestinal endoscope system and is the first company to use internet+ and big data technologies to provide cloud-based medical services.

The capsule gastrointestinal endoscope it developed enables painless, non-invasive stomach examinations that do not involve the use of narcotics and can be done in 15 minutes. The accuracy of their results is highly consistent with those of traditional electronic gastrointestinal endoscopy. Ankon's capsule gastrointestinal endoscope is the only medical product that can accurately screen gastric diseases and has received type-three medical equipment certification from the China Food and Drug Administration. The product has been used by nearly 1,000 medical institutions in 30 provinces and municipalities across China.

SBCVC is upbeat about firms, including Ankon, that boast world-leading technologies, innovative capacity and online cloud-based medical platforms, and SBCVC is very confident about Ankon's future development, said Dr. Hua Ping, managing partner at SBCVC.

SBCVC injected tens of millions of dollars into Ankon in February to help it grow its presence in the medical market. SBCVC's continued support of Ankon is indicative of its confidence in the company.
