(Yicai Global) Aug. 6 -- The number of fifth-generation wireless network base stations in China should double to reach 800,000 by the end of this year with the number of 5G users growing two-fold to 200 million, according to an executive at Huawei Technologies.
Both headline figures should account for more than 70 percent of the world's total, Sino.Com reported, citing Yang Chaobin, president of the Shenzhen-based firm's wireless network products department, speaking in a technology summit.
By the end of June, China built 400,000 5G base stations, and its 5G users exceeded 100 million.
