(Yicai Global) Dec. 27 -- China's bike-sharing giant Beijing Bikelock Technology Co., better known as Ofo, will work with China's State General Administration of Sports to launch a national cycling program to encourage more people to participate in cycling and attract more loyal customers, online media outlet 36Kr reported.

"National Cycling Series Program" initiated by Ofo and sponsored by All-China Sports Federation has officially kicked off today. As co-sponsor of the event, Ofo will provide access to signing up, riding data and other technical support. The program is first available in Beijing, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Wuhan, and any Ofo users in these seven cities can sign up to it through Ofo's bike-sharing app.

Ofo will automatically start recording data including users' journeys after the enrollment. The top 300 riders in each season will have the chance to participate in the finals offline and the winners will receive honorary titles and grade certificate granted by the State General Administration of Sports, the agency responsible for sports in China.

Ofo has so far rolled out more than 10 million shared bikes in 250 cities around the world and receives over 32 million daily orders from 200 million registered users, its data show.
