China's COMAC Delivers First Post-Virus Plane After Production Restarts China's COMAC Delivers First Post-Virus Plane After Production Restarts

(Yicai Global) April 24 -- An ARJ21 advanced regional jet landed at Yinchuan Hedong International Airport yesterday from Shanghai Pudong International Airport after an over three-hour flight to become the first ARJ21 plane the Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China has delivered as work and production resume amid the waning Covid-19 epidemic in China.

This is the 24th plane of the all-economy class model COMAC has supplied. The ARJ21 fleet has thus far carried over 810,000 passengers in safety in more than 285,000 hours in the air, the company noted, China News Service reported online yesterday.

ICBC Leasing, an arm of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, bought the brand-new aircraft that arrived yesterday in Yinchuan, which is the capital of the northwestern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, to turn it over to the ARJ21's first lessee Chengdu Airlines, per the report.

The carrier, whose hub is Southwest China’s Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, now flies 19 ARJ 21 planes in an air network extending throughout most of the country that spans 18 cities.
