(Yicai Global) Aug. 25 -- DCEP, China's official digital currency, has no specific timetable as it is still in the internal testing stage, according to a department head at the central bank.

Sun Guofeng, head of the monetary policy department at the People's Bank of China, didn't disclose more details about the central bank's cryptocurrency.

The PBOC will lead a pilot to test the currency in Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Xiongan, the central bank said in a statement in April.
