(Yicai Global) Nov. 29 -- Derong Chemical will construct a hydrocarbon factory in its hometown in eastern China's Zhoushan.
Derong Chemical board meeting has approved the CNY3.3 billion (USD475 million) project, the company's parent Guangdong Demei Fine Chemicals Group announced on Nov. 27. The plant is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2020, while its production will be uplifted in six months after that to reach the full capacity.
The project will annually produce over 400,000 tons of C5 and C9 aromatic hydrocarbons which can be processed into a series of high value-added chemical products, the statement added. Hydrocarbon resins are usually used for rubbers, adhesives and coatings.
More specifically, the plant will make 70,000 tons of pentadiene resin each year, as well as 100,000 tons of hydrogenated dicyclopentadiene resin, and 80,000 tons of C9 aromatic resin, among others.
