(Yicai Global) May 24 -- Chinese security software and hardware firm Emperor Technology Co. has won a USD12 million contract to provide technical services to Belarus so that the eastern European country can issue biometric identity documents.

Emperor Technology has agreed on a deal with RUE Cryptotech, a firm affiliated with the Belarusian finance ministry, to collect, process, and develop a system for issuing biometric passports and identity cards, the Shenzhen-based firm said in a statement. The contract will last until Nov. 30.

The value of the deal is equivalent to 20 percent of Emperor Tech's annual operating income last year, so it will have a positive impact on the firm's earnings, said the statement.

Emperor Technology specializes in supplying Chinese and foreign governments and institutions with multidimensional identification, big data, and the Internet of Things services based on identification technology.
