(Yicai Global) Oct. 19 -- China's industrial activities rebounded faster than expected last month amid its tight grip on the Covid-19 epidemic and successful government stimulus.

China's factory output gained 6.9 percent in September, extending the expansion streak to six months, the National Bureau of Statistics announced today. In August, the hike had been 5.6 percent.

Some 22 chief economists at major Chinese financial institutions had predicted that the increase would be 5.79 percent, according to a survey done by Yicai Global.

In the third quarter, production was hiked by 5.8 percent, up from the second quarter's 4.4 percent.

In the first three quarters of this year, factory output rose by 1.2 percent after contracting in the first two quarters.
