China's Factory Output Growth Is 6% in First Half; Better Than Expected(Yicai Global) July 15 -- China's industrial output expanded by 6.0 percent in the first half, according to official data. The figure is stronger than what Yicai Global's survey done with chief economists suggests.
The growth of industrial production was 5.0 percent for the first five months of the year, data that the National Bureau of Statistics published earlier show. The pace of expansion was 6.7 percent in the same period of last year.
A survey of 22 chief economists of China's major financial institutions predicted, on average, that the growth would be 5.23 percent in the first six months of the year.
