(Yicai Global) May 18 -- Shares in Hymson Laser Intelligent Equipments surged by the exchange-imposed daily limit today after the Chinese laser equipment producer signed a CNY673 million (USD104.7 million) supply contract with China’s biggest electric car battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology.
Hymson’s stock price [SHA:688559] soared 20 percent to reach CNY22.13 (USD3.44).
Hymson will provide laser and automation equipment to two of Ningde, southeastern Fujian province-based CATL’s lithium battery making facilities in southeastern Jiangsu and southwestern Sichuan provinces from June 30 to Dec. 11, the Shenzhen-based company said yesterday.
The value of the deal is 30 percent more than the firm’s entire revenue last year and as such will have a positive effect on Hymson’s performance this year, it added.
