(Yicai Global) Oct. 8 -- China's Logistics Prosperity Index rebounded to 53.8 in September, its highest figure so far this year, indicating demand for the nation's distribution services is heating up after four months of decline.

The LPI index was 2.9 points higher than in August while the storage index was down 2.3 points at 52.0, the Shanghai-based China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, part of the Ministry of Commerce, said today.

The gain suggests an improvement in business activity, greater demand and higher expectations for the industry, said He Hui, deputy director of the China Logistics Information Center.
