China's Main Stock Indexes All Rose More Than 3% Today

(Yicai Global) Mar. 2 -- China's mainland stock markets continued their upward climbs in the afternoon as three major stock benchmarks all rose past 3 percent till the closing bell during the ninth consecutive trading day when more than CNY1 trillion (USD143.5 billion) worth of shares exchanged hands.

The Shanghai Composite Index finished 3.15 percent up at 2,970.93. The Shenzhen Component Index inched up 3.65 percent to 11,381.76. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, edged up 3.08 percent to 2,135.42.

The infrastructure construction sector led the markets with a dozen firms hitting the 10 percent limit-up, including China Railway Construction [SHA:601186], China Communications Construction [SHA:601800], and China Railway Group [SHA:601390].
