China Mainland Stocks Open at Eight-Month High

(Yicai Global) March 4 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland started out much higher this morning, due to enthusiastic investment sentiment, and the Shanghai Composite Index hit a zenith unseen since June.

The Shanghai Composite Index kicked off at 3,015.94, up 0.73 percent from last Friday's close, while the Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.23 percent to start at 9280.65. The ChiNext price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, gained 1.83 percent to 1,596.55.
