(Yicai Global) March 23 -- China Mobile Communications Corp., one of China's big three mobile telecoms firms, will cut data tariffs for its users by more than 30 percent this year in response to a government work report earlier this year.

The Beijing-based carrier made the commitment in its financial report for 2017. The company's revenue reached CNY740.5 billion last year, up 4.5 percent annually.

China's three major operators previously announced that they would actively respond to a call for upgrades to network speeds and reduce tariffs. China Mobile will also make efforts to achieve full coverage of high-speed broadband in urban and rural areas and aims to cancel data roaming charges.

The company's income from communications services was CNY668 billion (USD105 billion) in 2017, up 7.2 percent from last year. Net profit amounted to CNY114.3 billion, up 5.1 percent.
