(Yicai Global) Oct. 11 -- China's National Bureau of Statistics has teamed up with e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA] and cloud computing service provider Inspur Software Co. [SHA:600756] to improve the quality and authenticity of its data, Ning Jizhe, bureau head, said at a State Council press briefing yesterday.

Ning talked about China's recent economic development at the conference, and mentioned the statistics bureau's latest work, Chinese news outlet The Paper reported. The NBS, Alibaba and Inspur have been cooperating since 2013 and to explore the positive impacts the internet, cloud computing and Big Data technologies can have on statistics.

Their joint endeavor to improve the authenticity, accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data is well underway, and the NBS hopes to enhance the transparency and sharing of its data through the partnership.

Some internet companies have already accumulated large quantities of data and government agencies are trying to do the same. The State Council, or China's cabinet, requires government departments to open up this data to the public, Ning said.

The statistics bureau will also set up a strict accountability system to enhance the authenticity of data and prevent inaccuracies within certain organizations and places.
