(Yicai Global) July 20 -- OMH Science Group will include Siemens' automated guided vehicles in future smart storage system construction projects it contracts and prioritize use of Siemens' other products, OMH Science said in a statement today. Its shares [SHE:300486] jumped to a 42-month high of 4.84 percent to CNY21.89 (USD3.13) on the news in mid-afternoon.

AGVs are robotic vehicles which, when equipped with electromagnetic or optical automated devices, are able to travel along a specified navigation path. They find wide application in various smart warehouse scenarios.

Siemens' products will be the company's preferred choice in future engineering and services projects it assumes as contractor, per the statement from the firm. It will also undertake development of application technology, system integration and services for these products, and the two parties will jointly develop related technology, it said.

Munich, Germany-headquartered Siemens will provide the company based in Taiyuan in China's northern Shanxi province with a succession of other intelligent logistics solutions, the statement added, but without providing financial details. Siemens has thus far not announced the deal.

OMH Science is a provider of smart manufacturing systems and warehousing, sorting and distribution solutions formerly known as Oriental Material Handling. It won an order from Thailand's F&N Dairies to build smart warehousing systems for its new Bangkok storage facility, it announced in March. It penned an earlier deal with Malaysia's top beverage producer and seller Fraser & Neave Holding last year to equip a large warehousing and distribution center the drinks maker built in the capital of Kuala Lumpur with smart storage and distribution systems.
