(Yicai Global) Feb. 20 -- A unit of Semir Group, the Chinese owner of clothing brands Semir and Balabala, will join hands with Alibaba Group Holding's AliExpress to sell the former's products on the latter's international retail platform.

Semir E-commerce has penned a strategic partnership agreement with AliExpress, under which its clothes will become accessible to global shoppers, the Zhejiang province-based firm said in a statement.

"As China's largest B2C e-commerce platform for exports, AliExpress has established a close relationship with Semir and expects to further expand its brand influence in global markets via its market positioning in Europe, the US, the Middle East and other markets," Semir E-commerce's General Manager Shao Feichun said.

Semir E-commerce's retail sales exceeded CNY7.6 billion (USD1.1 billion) in 2018. Semir brand targets adolescent buyers and Balabala involves casual children's clothes.

Launched in April 2010, AliExpress allows business owners from China's mainland, as well as Singapore and Russia, to get in touch with potential buyers across the world.
