(Yicai Global) Jan. 25 -- Selen Science & Technology has secured a CNY220 million (USD32.4 million) contract to supply battery packaging materials to a Chinese subsidiary of US new energy vehicle power unit maker Farasis Energy.
Selen penned an agreement with Farasis Energy's Jiangxi province-based unit regarding the latter's plan to buy eight million square meters of aluminum plastic film this year, the Shenzhen-based packaging material firm said in a statement. The deal will make up no more than 5 percent of the seller's revenue this year, the statement added.
Selen is an exclusive or major supplier of aluminum plastic film for many well-known Chinese battery-makers, and occupied over 70 percent of the related market last year, according to the statement.
Selen's stock [SHE: 002341] closed at CNY11.2 (USD1.7) yesterday, up 6.9 percent.
