(Yicai Global) July 30 -- China's mainland stock indexes started the day edging up while financial companies were among the best-performing shares. 

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.2 percent higher at 2,946.26. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.1 percent to 9,362.23. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, climbed 0.1 percent to 1,568.16 point.

Shares of financial leasing companies soared 7.5 percent while those of brokerages advanced 5.5 percent by 10.30 a.m.
