China's Stock Markets Close Down, With GEI Drooping Over 1%(Yicai Global) Sept. 21 -- Shanghai's stock market fell in the afternoon despite a morning rise, sending China's stock markets down for the entire day, with the Growth Enterprise Index(GEI) pared over 1 percent.
The Shanghai Composite Index decreased 0.24 percent, to 3,357.81 points at the final bell, turning over CNY231.9 billion.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 11,098.24 points in morning trade, down 0.83 percent, with turnover of CNY320.7 billion.
The Growth Enterprise Index went down 1.05 percent, to 1,887.63 points at the finish, with CNY91.3 billion changing hands.
