(Yicai Global) Dec. 18 -- All shares rose on the STAR market rose, but Chinese stock markets ended on a down note nonetheless today from profit-taking deflated prices after yesterday's surge.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended 0.18 percent lower at 3,017.04, while the Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.11 percent to 10,294.66. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks Shenzhen-listed growth enterprises, inched down 0.51 percent to 1,792.42.
