(Yicai Global) March 15 -- China's main stock indexes closed higher today and for the week overall despite falling from a peak during the afternoon trade.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed 1.04 percent higher at 3,021.75 points with a turnover of CNY344.7 billion (USD51.45 billion) while the Shenzhen Component Index increased 1.41 percent to 9,550.54 with CNY405.9 billion changing hands. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, climbed 0.75 percent to 1,662.62, with CNY115.9 billion swapped.
For the whole week, the Shanghai Composite increased 1.75 percent, the Shenzhen Component went up 2 percent and the ChiNext expanded 0.49 percent.
