(Yicai Global) Oct. 23 -- Chinese mainland stock markets finished the morning looking slightly thinner while agricultural shares bucked the downward trend to stand among the winners with a 1 percent gain.

The Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.31 percent to 2,945.36. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.3 percent to 9,613.21. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, declined 0.26 percent to 1,662.54.
