(Yicai Global) Nov. 1 -- China's mainland stock markets rebounded in the morning, prompted by new data that suggested that China's factory activity expanded for the fourth straight month in October.

The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.73 percent to 2,950.47. The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 1.39 percent to 9,769.02. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, gained 0.73 percent to 1,683.55.

The Caixin manufacturing purchasing managers' index rose by 0.3 percentage point to 51.7 last month, which was much better than the shrinking figure that the official PMI suggested earlier. The Caixin-Market index reaches out to 500 businesses, often privately owned.
