(Yicai Global) Sept. 14 -- Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population has ordered a large number of vaccines against meningococcal diseases such as meningitis from Yuxi Walvax Biotechnology, which will be helpful in the firm's expansion to the global market for vaccines.

Walvax obtained an order and a related import approval for 7.8 million doses of group A and group C meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine, the Yunnan province-based biotech product maker said in a statement, without disclosing the delivery time nor the financial details.

The drug, which is part of the World Health Organization's Expanded Programme on Immunization, will be included in the African country's vaccination program for infants.
