(Yicai Global) Sept. 14 -- China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) will announce specific measures in due course regarding how to implement the United Nations Security Council's resolution on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in cooperation with other relevant departments and in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations, MOC spokesperson Gao Feng said in response to a reporter's question during a press conference today.

China has always fully and strictly implemented the UN Security Council's resolutions on the DPRK, Gao said.

The growth rate of trade between China and the DPRK declined every month this year. The trade volume between the two countries grew by 10.2 percent from January to July, down by more than 21 percentage points compared with the first-quarter growth rate, said Gao. The rate for January to August will likely come in at under 10 percent.

China's imports from the DPRK have shown negative growth since March, and the figure for January to July dropped 16.3 percent annually, he said.

As the DPRK persists in carrying out nuclear tests and ballistic missile tests in defiance of the international community's strong opposition, the UN Security Council has passed several resolutions to increase sanctions against the DPRK. In a resolution passed by the council on Monday the international community agreed to add further DPRK sanctions by reducing oil supply to the country, banning exports of its textiles, and barring overseas DPRK workers from remitting money to their homeland.
